Enterprise Digital Transformation: The Influence of Knowledge Transfer and Dynamic Capabilities

Abstract

Digitalization permeates every aspect of society and the economy. Chinese enterprises are currently undergoing a digital transformation. Knowledge transfer and dynamic capabilities play crucial roles in this process. This study examines the influence of knowledge transfer on digital transformation and highlights the mediating effect of dynamic capabilities.

Knowledge Transfer and Dynamic Capabilities

Knowledge transfer facilitates knowledge sharing among users. Digital platforms emerge as conduits for this transfer. Simultaneously, dynamic capabilities enable enterprises to adapt to changing environments by integrating and reconfiguring resources.

Knowledge transfer enhances enterprise digital transformation by providing access to digital technologies and knowledge. It allows enterprises to identify and seize digital opportunities.

Dynamic Capabilities and Digital Transformation

Dynamic capabilities are vital for digital transformation. They include sensing, capturing, and reconfiguring capabilities, which support innovation and competitive advantage.

Knowledge transfer enhances dynamic capabilities by updating knowledge structures. It improves sensing, capturing, and reconstruction abilities, thereby facilitating digital transformation.

Research Model

This study proposes a theoretical model exploring the relationships between knowledge transfer, dynamic capabilities, and digital transformation. Knowledge transfer is hypothesized to positively influence dynamic capabilities and digital transformation, with dynamic capabilities mediating this relationship.

Materials and Methods

Data was collected via a questionnaire survey from managers in enterprises undergoing digital transformation. The research period spanned from March 16th to June 25th, 2024.

Results

• Knowledge transfer positively influences dynamic capabilities and digital transformation.
• Dynamic capabilities mediate the relationship between knowledge transfer and digital transformation.

Conclusion

Knowledge transfer plays a significant role in enterprise digital transformation by enhancing dynamic capabilities. Enterprises must prioritize knowledge acquisition and application to drive digital transformation and maintain competitive advantage.
